IEDA Board approves $7.1 million for Mason City's Iowa Reinvestment Act project
Breaking News The Iowa Economic Development Authority Board has approved $7-point-1 million in funding for the City of Mason City’s application to the Iowa Reinvestment District program. The IEDA board made the decision this morning on how to distribute the $41-and-a-half million available from the program to five projects in Mason City, Coralville, Davenport, Grinnell and Sioux City. Mason City officials had asked for $9-point-8 million to fund their project, which includes a multi-purpose arena, a hotel, a retail and apartment complex, a parking ramp, and a music pavilion. Mason City mayor Eric Bookmeyer says city officials are thrilled about the decision. He says they appreciate all the work of the board and staff and IEDA in helping Mason City get this award.
