BREAKING --- Old Target/Hobby Lobby building at Southport collapses
Breaking News MASON CITY --- One of the main portions of the Southport Shopping Center in Mason City collapsed early Sunday morning, likely due to a combination of heavy snow and rainfall on the roof. The building, owned by Portland Investments Company out of Los Angeles,   used to house Target and Hobby Lobby appears to be a total loss after the accident.

Breaking News
=== Phone lines for the Cerro Gordo County Courthouse and the Sheriff’s Department are out of service at this hour due to an equipment failure during a scheduled maintenance. Parts are being driven up to get it fixed. Cerro Gordo County Sheriff Kevin Pals says the phones have been down since about 8:45 PM last night. This outage does not impact 9-1-1 service throughout the county.
