Stabbing incident still under investigation, one arrested on warrant
Breaking News updated at 9:10 AM
6-25-10

MASON CITY --- Mason City police have arrested one person on an outstanding warrant, but no charges have been filed after a stabbing incident early this morning. Police confirm that they were called shortly after 1:10 this morning to 2822 North Carolina on a report of a fight that involved a knife. One of those stabbed that was still in the house, 23-year-old Michael Reich, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Worth County and taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail after being treated for injuries. Officers were told that others injured in the incident had left for treatment at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa. Police checked the hospital and located four male adults who had just arrived, with some sustaining serious injuries. Police say the incident is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed regarding the incident. If you have any information about the stabbing, you are asked to contact the Mason City Police Department at 421-3636.

Wright County under Emergency Declaration
Breaking News CLARION --- Wright County is officially in a state of emergency. The Wright County Board of Supervisors this morning passed a Declaration of Emergency for the county. Anybody in the rural portion of Wright County experiencing damage should report to Wright County Sheriff Paul Schultz at 515-532-3722, or Wright County Emergency Management Director Jim Lester at 515-602-6821 to fill out forms. Anyone experiencing damage inside the city limits of their community should contact their city hall to fill out the forms. Reports will be turned over to state and federal authorities for financial consideration of reimbursement for damages. This however does not guarantee any reimbursement. Authorities are asking people to stay away from standing water around or in your home to avoid any risk of injury from electrical shock. Wright County authorities say they’ve seen several homes with unstable basement walls, and they are directing people to stay out of saturated confined spaces such as basements as they may collapse.
