BREAKING --- Police looking for Mason City man accused of kidnapping
Breaking News MASON CITY --- Police say they are looking for a Mason City man accused of a kidnapping incident earlier this morning. Sgt. Jeremy Cole says they received a report in the early morning hours this morning of a kidnapping that had occurred within the city limits. After further investigation, police determined that 23-year-old Demetrius Flores was the suspect in the incident. Police have not been able to locate Flores since the incident occurred. An arrest warrant for Flores has been issued. He’s been charged with second-degree kidnapping and two counts of aggravated domestic assault. The victim’s name from the incident is being withheld at this time due to safety concerns for the victim. The victim received minor injuries and was treated and released from Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa following the incident. Anybody with information about Flores’ whereabouts or has more information about the incident should contact the Mason City Police Department at 421-3636. Second-degree kidnapping is a Class B felony, punishable by up to 25 years in prison. Aggravated domestic assault is an aggravated misdemeanor, punishable by up two years in jail.
