"Significant announcement" in Miller case
Breaking News FLOYD --- Authorities say there’s been a major development in the murder investigation of Evelyn Miller. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office will be holding a press conference this afternoon to inform the public about what they are calling a “significant development” in the seven-year investigation into the death of the five-year-old Floyd girl, who was reporting missing from her home on July 1st of 2005 and found by a kayaker near Charles City a few days later. Miller lived in an apartment with her mother, Noel Miller, two brothers and her mother’s boyfriend Casey Frederiksen. Noel Miller since Evelyn’s death has moved out of state after losing custody of her two sons. Frederiksen is in prison on child pornography charges. One of the last people to see Evelyn alive, Danny Slick, was sentenced in 2007 to a year in prison for lying to FBI agents investigating the case. You can hear LIVE coverage of the press conference starting at 1:30 PM on AM-1300 KGLO and live online at www.discovernorthiowa.com
