Power restored in Hancock County
|
|
GARNER --- Power has been restored to about 34-hundred customers of Alliant Energy in Hancock County this morning after a non-weather related incident. Alliant spokesman Scott Dryzcimski says the power went out in Britt, Garner, Duncan, and Crystal Lake this morning at about 3 o’clock with power being restored to customers between 6:00 and 7:00 AM. He says the outage was caused by a fire damage to the top of a pole inside the county caused the power being fed out of the Hancock County substation to cease, with power being re-routed to those communities from different transmission lines. Dryzcimski says the power company continues to investigate what caused the fire.
